Intermediate Grades (3rd-5th)
During the intermediate grades students focus on the following topics:
Language Arts curriculum includes reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, the six traits of writing, research skills and handwriting. Students develop their writing skills to clearly communicate their understanding.
In Math students work to gain computations skills in multiplication, division, fractions, decimals as well as develop skills with algebraic relationships, estimation, statistics and probability, measurement and geometry.
Social Sciences include use of maps and globes. Students study communities, citizenship, the role of economics and United States history.
Science is filled with animal & community systems, space, engineering design and force & motion.
Religion is devoted to learning about the Saints, the sacraments, daily, individual, and communal prayer and how we are called to live out a sacramental life.
In the intermediate grades, Chromebooks are regularly incorporated into the curriculum and students learn how to write, collect data, and present material through the Google Suite apps: Google Docs, Google Spreadsheet, and Google Slides.
